A beautifully handcrafted brooch. Intricate antique embellishments surround a bright centrepiece to make this a true statement piece.
Brooches, having featured heavily historically, are beginning their steady return. The right colour in the right place, a way to enliven a plain tee or invigorate a denim seam, or even as a more striking alternative to a practical safety pin, brooches have infinite uses and endless appeal.
The centre is made of a glass cabochon secured over a piece of my own artwork. Each piece of art has been carefully divided into the most striking segments and so each brooch is different, both from each other and from the original artwork that it came from. The way the patterns and colours flow and intertwine appear reminiscent of natural gemstones. A closer look and you might see it as a representation of our ancient earth, the deepest oceans, or even the wispy nebulas that surround our tiny world.
At first glance, they are a simple splash of colour, but these unique pieces invite a closer look. Their infinite complexities raise far more questions than they could ever answer.
The metal is brass and will not tarnish or stain the skin. The brooch is roughly 30mm long with a slim pin on a textured back.
